Primeval Forest at Mt. Amagi
I take pictures of the primeval forest at Mt. Amagi in the Izu Peninsula.
Trees in the primeval forest have lived for several hundred years in rain and strong wind. Old trees die and mushrooms grow to turn them to the earth. Vine hydrangea become parasitic in big beech trees and kill beech trees and then they themselves die.
We can observe the metempsychosis in the nature at Mt. Amagi.
Besides beech tree, there are many kinds of trees such as birdlimes, himeshara, andromeda, cedar, and flower trees like Amagi rhododendron, vine hydrangea, mountain azalea, kousa dogwood, and etc.
At Mt. Amagi, I feel that every creature is destined to go back to the earth.
What I take at Mt. Amagi is the metempsychosis of the primeval forest.
天城山の原生林
私は伊豆半島の天城山の原生林を撮影しています。
雨が多く、風も強い場所で、原生林の木々は風に煽られながらも何百年もの風雪に耐えてきています。
老木は枯れ、キノコが生え、土に帰ります。ブナの大木には蔓紫陽花が取り付き、やがて、ブナを殺し、自らも枯れます。自然界の輪廻転生を目の当たりにすることができます。
ブナの他にも山車、ヒメシャラ、馬酔木、杉などが育っています。また、天城シャクナゲ、蔓紫陽花、山ツツジ、ヤマボウシ、などが季節ごとに花を咲かせています。。
天城山では、全ての生物は土に帰って行く運命にあることを切実に感じさせられます。
私が撮っているのは、天城山の原生林の輪廻転生です。
